Purchasing my Jeep on Monday
Hey forum,

I have locked down a Laredo 3.7 2006 since the past week now and the deal is FINALLY about to go through on Monday (praise da lawwd lol).

It's driven 135k, has interior leather and sunroof. Is going for 11500 tax in from a private seller in Canada. What do you guys think is this a decent buy or should I still look around?

Replies would be appreciated

I dont think that is a good deal at all, for that price is should have closer to 70-90k in my opinion. Check, it will give you a good idea of what similar vehicles are going for

I know youve been thinking about this truck for a while, and are probably in love.... but.... for that price, you can have a 4.7 V8, newer, with fewer miles. Keep shopping man.

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday
Is the mileage in km's or miles (since it is a Canadian vehicle)? I am assuming km's...

Also, are you in Canada or are you importing it to the U.S.? I would also assume you are keeping it in Canada - while there isn't a cost to import the vehicle, you'll have to pay taxes if you were to register it in the U.S. based on the blue-book value which would add a few more hundred to the cost!

Either way - I think you could find a better deal if you can hang on a little longer (I know it can be tough!).

I have seen 2006 limiteds (hemi, nav, rear dvd, etc.) with similar mileage for only a couple grand more than that when sold privately.

I would not buy any WK used with than many miles unless it was 100% maintained by a certified mechanic, and he can produce all reciepts. The 3.7 is also a total dog, so go for a Hemi if you are going used; mpg is really not much worse, and it has night and day better drivability.

I sold my 2004 4.7 WJ Laredo with 180'000 Ks last December for $20,000 $Aus so I could order my new 2012 5.7 GC Overland, which I finally picked up last Friday, but it was in mint condition. The purchaser loves it.

Wow! Look elsewhere!!!!!!

I got mine, an '05 3.7L Laredo, 3.5 years ago for 8K. Had 69K on it, one owner, no accidents. (an amazing deal) but that's an idea of what you should be looking for.

That jeep is only worth about 7.5

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday
Hey forum,

So yes the car is in Canada and will be used over here too as I reside in Toronto myself. It is based on KMs that's why I was interested in the get go. After hours and hours of pushing I have brought the price down to $10750CAD ($10960USD) without him detailing the car.

Now do you guys think that's fair? Also he has the car fax and the E-Test plus Safety Test done to the car and everything seems clear.

Should there be anything in specific I should get checked out by the mechanic prior to signing of the transfer sheet or does the 06 WK run w/o any major problems? (Driven: 130k KMs)

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate them

I still think you are overpaying by at least $1500
