Has anybody put SRT wheels/tires on an Overland? Do tires stick out at all? Thx

Want to buy a set of '12 Grand Cherokee SRT8 wheels and tires taken out of a new truck (asking $4,500 delivered on Ebay. Thoughts?), but want to make sure they wouldn't stick out of the fenders on an '12 Overland at all. They're 10x20JJ +50mm offset, with 295/45/20 Pirelli Scorpion Verde all-season tires, which are identical in diameter to the stock 265/50/20s (which I'd sell as a full set). Also want to make sure they wouldn't rub at full lock.

One last question: with the SRT wheels being forged, the difference in weight between the 2 should be minimal, right? I know runflat tires don't help in the weight department, but I'd replace them with Falken Ziex's when worn out. I'd appreciate all comments . Thanks gang.

I think the concern is if a 50mm offset and the 10" width will fit our knuckles. All of the info I could find said the knuckles were modified on the srt to accommodate the width of the wheels. I would love to know because I want to order 20x10 with a 46 offset.

Do you know by any chance what's the width and offset of the factory Overland 20" wheels? We can find out mathematically about the knuckles for sure, but my other worry is I don't want the wheels sticking out of the fenders. I think with 46 it would be pushing it too far for the knuckles man. We'll be lucky if they don't hit with 50 IMO. I think we're about 1/2" away from hitting the knuckles with the stock tires, so we should be fine with the SRT wheels, but I want to know for sure. If I can't find the width and offset info, will have to remove one wheel and find out for sure. The stock wheels are pretty inward, so it's entire possible the extra inch of the SRT wheels is all to the outside. But I'm sure the Overland can accomodate 1/4" more to the inside (and 3/4" to the outside), but that's about it IMO. The trouble would be if our stock wheels are 8-1/2", which shouldn't be the case with a 265 tire. I'll find out soon enough. Thanks man.

Well, my fellow brothers, never got the help I needed before pulling the trigger, but already did . The SRT wheels/TPMS/tires (Scorpion 'ultra high performance A/S tires, just what I wanted) arrive Thursday. They were supposedly dismounted from a brand new SRT at a dealership, so should be brand new. There seems to be at least 1-1/2" clearance on the Overland on every direction, full lock to full lock, so knocking on wood there won't be any fitment issues. Most people said it shouldn't. The knuckles were the only concern, but as I said, there's at least 1-1/2" clearance, and I personally think most of the 1-1/2" of the extra width on the SRT wheels/tires will probably be towards the outside of the Overland wheels. Will keep you posted.

But since I'm doing this for you, my brothers, can one of you please find out how to deal with the new sensors? :D Is there a way to recalibrate the TPMS system from the car, without a dealer visit? If no, is a dealer cheaper than a Discount Tire? Thanks gang.

EDIT: Can somebody give me an idea how much I can sell the set of 4 Overland 20" wheels/TPMS/tires (265/50/20s) with about 3K miles for? I'd give exact details later on, but would like to have an idea. Many thanks.

Forgot about this, but just dug it out for you buddy :D. Tires are Falken Ziex S/TZ-04; $156 at Discounttiredirect.com . Heck of a deal in my book. Hope it helps .

^^^ Awesome im VERY curious to see how this looks PLEASE post pictures asap. Frome what I see on ebay the new takeoff wheels and tires were all in the $4,000+ range. If you dont mind me asking what did you end up paying for them?

As for the sensors I say your best bet is to just go to discount tire. Those guys are usually great. Last place I would want my new Jeep is at the dealership. Discount recalibrated a set of sensors on my Z06 Corvette free of charge and only took a few minutes. DOnt bother with the dealership please!

Subscribed. I think the SRT knuckle redesign is more to accommodate the brakes.

sounds awesome man! so do you think it would be the same for me with the 20x10+50 replicas in the front on my v6 wk2? I really dont want to run into issues up front, idk if its going to make a difference being its a v6??

Although I can't guarantee you that, I'd bet cash money the answer is yes. Although there're differences in suspension (air vs springs), transmissions, and engines, wheel fitment should be identical on the V6 and V8 Overland IMO. The only question is with the SRT, but as somebody said above, the knuckle change probably was due to the brakes, and not wheel clearance. We'll find out soon enough. But have patience folks, since the stupid UPS truck carrying the wheels had a freaking accident. Geez. No word on what happened, or when delivery will take place. Waiting for their reply.

Not at all man. Paid $4,349 delivered, to be exact. Thought that was outrageous at first, but after thorough research, including the older SRT wheels (rear ones have identical specs as the WK2 ones), it was a pretty decent deal. Remember the tires alone are almost 2 grand. And the wheels are FORGED, and include the TPMS sensors as well. There're several sets available, but all with the less desirable summer tires (Pirelli P-Zeros); this was the only one with the Scorpion Verdes. Didn't really want runflats, but they'll provide an added piece of mind if needed. But next set will NOT be runflats for sure. Will keep you posted gang.
