Water leaks from Liftgate

I washed jeep today and after drying about 1 hour later opened liftgate hatch and saw a water on my cargo slush mat. Looks like weather stripping around the rear hatch/door is leaking. Has Anyone had this leak ? Dried water and sprayed water very easy to resemble rain and when i opened lift gate water rolled off back of hatch and into channel. Water leaked through gasket then out plastic trim in back of head liner . Looks like a gasket leak.

I had water that got thought the rubber grommet in the liftgate glass. The grommet was replaced and that did not work. Jeep ended up putting a new piece of glass in the lift gate.

Have heard of water leak problems in the 2011. Mine is a 12 and haven't had water leaks yet.

Mine is a '12 and mine leaked at the grommet also. I was going to just put some silicone caulk on the inside. What was wrong with the glass to make it leak?

I have a similar phenominon. After washing, I open the liftgate and flipper glass to dry in the recesses. When it's closed a single bead of water will run down the inside of the rear glass. Guess I will need to do a better job drying.

If the leak is from the grommet thru the rear flipper glass for the defroster harness, there is a memo for that. See the very bottom of Milous' TSB page:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm

As for any water leak, you can have the dealer locate and fix it. (There is a sticky thread about leaks in general; here it is http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread...ht=water+leaks)

If you feel like going after the flipper glass grommet leak as a DIY project, Post #10 in this thread may help:

Good luck!

Don't think its flipper glass grommet. Water is making its way from channel to plastic trim back part of head liner on to cargo Matt.

Guess I should have searched the forums before making my own thread.

If it's pooling on the cargo mat, open the liftgate and check the two rubber looms (appx 1.5" in diameter) that pass through the roof of the cargo area. Not the flipper glass. Make sure they are seated fully.

I've searched for a similar problem, but couldn't find one. Twice I've heard a rattle in the cargo area of my '13, only to find the driver's side storage bucket - below the flashlight - full of water - with a chunk of ice in it bouncing around. Talking about a third full of water. That's a lot of water to be coming in from the liftgate - or any other place. And it is only on the driver's side. I haven't found any other wet areas.

Any one else have this issue?
