4.7L HO owners

Hey you fellow dirty HO's....just out of curiosity, can you post up what you idle at once you're warmed up? I'm right at 500 RPM. Just curious what others are at.

I think mine's a little higher bro. 650ish maybe? I'll have to double check that for ya.

Yep just shy of 700. Don't know if that's typical though but 500 seems a little low. They get a little lopey down there. Is this something new bro? I know mine gets a little pissy after the battery has been unhooked for a while. It idles real low and stalls. I have to take it for a ride and romp on it a bit and all is good. Just have to show it who's boss.

Ever since the head rework and head gaskets.... mine idles between 500 and maybe 600 depending on ambient air temp and how I have been driving it. It has a sweet lope and with the Flowmaster it sounds groovy. Cleaned the IAC and got a new TPS. Factory short ram intake and Wix premium filter...BTW. 150K and this thing loves to be driven.

Nah, nothing new...it's always idled there as far as I've ever noticed. I was just curious. I was watching it today due to my humming fuel filter...I was looking for anything to be off at all. Then I realized that I think this is the first vehicle I've ever owned that idled at low. It's smooth as buttah....but was just curious. That's what it was at today after I got home from work, so it's with a warm engine on a warm, humid day.

Come up with anything bud? Maybe one of the hoses didn't go back on right or the 2 with the same fitting got mixed up.

Dick squat brotha...after some more "spirited" driving on the way home today, it stopped making the noise. I double checked everything and no leaks, no kinks, no nothing. It seems to have "auto-corrected"..hhahaha. I'll take it! We'll see if it acts up again tomorrow.

i dont have an ho but i noticed that somes mine idles when warm at 600 sometimes 500 and sometimes at about 475. but mostly 600. i kinda like when it idles at around 475 cause i can sit in traffic and take my foot off the brake.

Like Antonio mine is no dirty HO but it idles around 650. Maybe a tad over or under depending on weather, etc. if its always been there and it's smooth I'm sure it's just fine. Maybe it idles a little lower with the opened up intake and exhaust?
