uConnect changes 2011 => 2012?

We're now a two Grand Cherokee family based on the very positive experience with the 2011 Overland purchased a year ago. Purchased a 2012 last month.

On the 12, within the uConnect system, when scrolling through the display options be hitting "presets" tab, one option is the map display from the nav system (the other displays pertain to music titles, stations, artists, etc). On the 11, the map does not display but a picture does (not one we loaded).

Anyone know if nav map display is a user defined option? If not, can the 11 software be updated?

Welcome! The uConnect and Media Centre radios have had multiple software updates since the WK2 was released.

The latest software update for 2011 Grand Cherokees is done per the following TSB: http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0801912.pdf

That TSB is for the HFM itself which is separate from the had unit.

Are the radios the same model? It could be that one is the 430N and the other is the 730N.

OK . I've now solved the mystery and am posting it in case someone searches on this thread in the future. The Nav map display during radio media playback is a user defined parameter option accessed through the main menu (button on the right side of the screen). Once that is set, you can access the map display by cycling through the preset displays. :)
