Plant mode??

The 'service 4wd' warning light had recently started to flash on for a few seconds and then go off by itself, seemingly at random (on flat dry pavement). I took it to the dealer and they said the module was still in 'plant mode'. They cleared the codes and recalibrated and said it tested OK. Anyone know what 'plant mode' is and why it took 5800 miles to start flashing the light? The 'erroneous 4wd service' TSB had been applied several months ago.
('11 Overland Hemi).

Re: Plant mode??

When I first got my 2011 Overland and I took it in becase the air suspension would not raise up the first thing they told me was that it was in plant mode. They said they took it out of plant mode and the supension would still not go up. So I assumed it had to do with the air suspension but maybe its does something with both. They told me plant mode is what its in during the assembly process and for moving it around the plant.

JP467 - thanks for the serious answer. I assumed there must be some way the plant bypasses all the safeties during assembly. I hoped someone would be able to shed a little light on the subject.
