Hid off road light

Anybody have these? Do you like them? Can you change the bulb?

Not a bad price. Here's the main question? What are you trying to do w lighting?! HIDs usually put out more of a pencil beam (for more distance) but not much for width. I have HID headlights and fogs, piaa 520 ATPs and rigid industries duallys and D2 LED off road lights. RI for me is the only way to go now!

Good luck

x2 on the Cooper-tino! Those look VERY similar to the Hella 4000 series. They look too cheap to me :) On lights - you get what you pay for. I like my Eagle Eyes so far - they are a mediocre price. Like Coop said though - determine what you want, but Rigid is the shiznit for almost anything. Check the "Off Road Lights" thread for LYTE output

Re: Hid off road light

Looking for 2 lights to add to my hunter guard....something I can use when driving on highways at night update ny and driving through woods for camping....not really looking to spend much more than 100 a light

JeepCoop 05-10-2012 03:19 PM

IMO the Rigid Industries D2 Driving Beam are what you want. Yes, they are a lot more than $100 a light, but I guarantee you'll be more than happy w these lights for what you want to do. They are well worth it!!! I do a lot of night wheeling and those alone have perfect spot and width in their projection.

Like seņor Lewis said above, check out the off road lights thread and you'll get a lot of knowledge on lights. WARNING you're gonna get addicted!!! Haha

Good luck and let us know

MOAR LYTES!!!

Haha I know I've been frequent to the thread and I knew I was gonna get sucked into getting something much better and spending the money...I feel like I may have just asked this question so I can say "well I tried" haha...and I'm going camping in June so Im ordering a rola because my dogs will be joining me...I'm sure that will be covered in lights soon enough as well

JeepCoop 05-10-2012 04:52 PM

Atta boy!!! Lol

Get the rola from etrailers.com. Best price and super quick shipping! And I'm assuming you read on mounting the hardware upside down for lower profile fit?!?!? Haha

Re: Hid off road light

I have 3 HID lights on the front of my Jeep... they are HELLA 4000 conversions with external balasts. HID lights are nice and extremely bright however they take about 30 seconds to get to their full luminosity. The brightest HID light is the 5000k, thats what i have... if you are going to get HID's , dont get anything but those.

the lights you posted have internal balasts... thats nice... i also like the look of them but i would question the brand.

LED lights are nice as well but way more $$$ ... if you have unlimited funds than i would def go with LEDs, but if you're working with a budget, HID lights are def the way to go.
