Replacing rear quarter panel
I just got my 2011 Laredo and one of the first modifications was to overhaul the pitiful factory sound system (base Laredo, not 4x4). Replaced front door speakers, added amp, and had JL Stealthbox installed. The rear quarter panel on the passenger side of the cargo area got cracked during installation of the JL Stealthbox, and needs to be replaced.
Are there any instructions out there detailing the replacement of this panel? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
IMO the base 6 speaker system is great, but I play all music from my iPhone through an aux cord. I don't have an answer to your question about the panel but if you could provide details to your new speakers and amp that would be awesome!
Re: Replacing rear quarter panel
That doesn't surprise me. That panel was a b**** to get off. Those little yellow plastic things don't want to come out once they are in. I broke the tabs in 3 spots and even when I could reach one with a panel tool it wouldn't budge. I'm talking bending the darn thing like 60 degrees or more. Then as I was putting it back on, there is a little pillar roughly in the center that holds one of those yellow things and spaces the panel off the metal. As I was trying to push the panel in to snap the yellow thingy in place, the whole plastic pillar broke off! I don't even know how since I should have been putting force on the pillar's axis, not sideways! Anyway, yeah - it's tough. It notches in to almost every panel near it and has about 10 of those little plastic tab things. Good luck. Oh, and if you DO break the pillar - don't sweat it. I haven't noticed any issues with mine missing.
Actually, I forgot there is a link that might help:
