Pirelli scorpion str on overland?

Long story short is that I got a nail in 1 tire and odd wear on another, so I'm replacing all 4. I can get a great deal on some scorpion str, but are 275/55 on the 20s.

I like the profile on stocks, but these tires are available for 400 and have a few hundred miles on them.

What do you guys think? Much difference in the look? If no, then what do you recommend?

Bigger diameter. Cheaper to buy two new oems.

I like the Scorpions. They are OEM on my Volvo XC70. Good tire

Yes, they were on my wife's 2007 XC70 too. While they handled well, they were terrible in the winter. Also while I realize that tread life is shorter than normal on AWD vehicles than 2WD, these were particularly short lived. (Now that we have the WK2, we just traded the Volvo in for a 2012 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited. It makes a better city/commuting vehicle for wife. She says it handles more like her 2 Saab's of the 1990's. Interior room is greater than the Volvo too. The 215/50/17 Bridgestone Turanza EL 400's will be replaced by Nokian WR G2's later this year.)

I have 420's on our Acura MDX and after 10K miles, I think they are way too noisy. They handle fine in the dry. Can't comment much on wet weather since it didn't rain much here last year with the drought. And when I say they are noisy, I mean I felt like my Duratracs on my Nissan were quieter, if that tells you something.

So, personally I don't like them.

I hate tires, i'll probably just go with OEM's.

LOL! Finding the right tires can definitely be a pain. You have to take every opinion with a grain of salt and in the end flip a coin and hope you get it right. The 420s have a lot of good reviews, but for my application I don't care for them. I run them in 255/55 18, the stock size for the MDX.
