Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I've done a bit of reading on here and have yet to see any threads regarding tuning the CRDs. Does anyone even make tuning software for these things yet? I have some friends with Duramax's and the amount of power you can tap from a diesel is unreal. Now obviously, you won't be getting anywhere near what they are getting out of the Duramax, but I would think it should be fairly easy to get a 50hp/100ftlb. bump out of a CRD.

Thoughts?

I gather you are not talking about the new 2012 CRD, as your profile says you have a 2007 model.

There will likely be a few options coming in the not too distant future.

The diesel version of the new Chrysler 300 will have the same VM Motori A630 engine, therefore the performance add-ons may be a bit more common.

DP Chip, and Steinbauer both have tuning modules with some very impressive gains available for the current diesel

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Both of these companies are charging silly money for their products.
How can they justify $1500 for the DP and $2722 for the Steinbaur when we can get the racechip for EU$129. Seems there is a massive price difference and we have a few people who are using the racechip and say it is a noticeable difference.

I only mentioned these two because they are Aussie and they have Aussie warranty, some peace of mind if something goes wrong
Enforcer, as you know all our prices are a rip off in OZ

yes, tunes work the best on diesels, you will have to research your engine. the mercedes diesels were detuned to start with to meet north american emmisions and tax crap. i just woke it up.

I have to say I was more then pleased after installing a chip. Definitely has made it less bothersome to drive in city traffic giving it the 'go' it needed.

The price after shipping is still one third of the price to the rebadged chips in Aus.

Which chip did you end up getting?
