3.7 WK transfer case help
Hello all, new to the forum and have been searching for an answer. I want to takle changing the transfer case fluid (2005 3.7 WK, full-time 4WD). I watched the video on how to do it in a 4.7 but my 3.7 has a cover over the drain plug, and I heard someone say that the bolts holding it on are all different lengths? If anyone has pics/vids of this procedure for the 3.7, or any helpful tips/info I would appreciate it.

Also I want to flush the cooling system and wonder if I'll be okay to use the Zerex g-05 coolant, compared to the mopar 5-year coolant. Anyone running it, any troubles?

Re: 3.7 WK transfer case help
In order for me to change the t case fluid I had to remove the circular piece that was blocking the drain plug. It's to bad just keep the bolts on the removed piece so you know where they went. You also want to make sure your vehicle is on a level surface to avoid overfill. And out transfer cases takes ATF.

As with the cooling system there is a nipple at the bottom of the radiator, I'm pretty due it is a reverse thread - turn it to the right to drain but not 100 percent on that. Once all is drained you can take off the cap on top of radiator and start flushing it with a hose. I believe you are supposed to use the specified coolant in our systems. When I flushed my system there was a lot of air trapped in the cooling system so i had to loosen the small Allen key near the water pump slowly in order to release the trapped air.

Re: 3.7 WK transfer case help
I believe you fill it on a level surface and pour the fluid in until it starts pouring out of the fill hole. In other words you want the fluid to be level with the fill line. The same goes for the differentials.

Re: 3.7 WK transfer case help
With mine I bought a hex key that was the right size (cant remember now) and cut it down to about 1" piece then used a wrench to turn the hex if that makes sense...that way i didnt have to remove anything

Re: 3.7 WK transfer case help
if you had to remove that piece its very simple. I removed it in 5 mins. I believe its a 10 allen key.
