Rear LED Bulb Size 2006 vs Newer
Hey guys, I posted a few months ago after struggling to replace my rear reverse LED light. The prior owner had to replace one of the rear tail lights. Right now I was able to install LEDs into the harness that has 3 separate houses, each that you squeeze to pull out.
I'm having trouble fitting it into the other socket, which is depicted below. As you can see, the bulb is basically hanging half out.
My question is then, assuming my 2006 jeep has one 2006 housing and a 2008+ one as well I need to figure out which housing is the one that I can't fit into and then the corresponding bulb size I need to properly fit. Right now I'm rocking one LED and one Halo...kinda lame haha
Re: Rear LED Bulb Size 2006 vs Newer
i believe the 08 and up tails only have two bulbs one is the stop, turn, run. light. and the second is the reverse liight. the prior years had stop, turn, and running lights seperate. so if both youre lights have 3 bulbs not counting the side marker than they are correct for youre year
ok after rereading youre post if you are saying you have 1 light thats a 2 socket and one thats a 3 socket than the first thing id do is get rid of the 2 socket light that is incorrect for youre year and i can imagine must look funky (to say the least when the lights are on) have you considered just updating both lights to led housings you will need an adaptor to make them work but its something to consider try taillightsolutions.com to read about the differant choises you have. they are pricy to purchase from but it explains the mods needed to make the ebay led lights work in an 06,07 wk
