Someone keyed my new jeep. Help!

So some asshole keyed my new JGC this morning. I'm so f-ing pissed that people do this sort of thing. I take so much pride in my car and worked hard to acquire it. This was done in Tiburon Ca. Anyways I called my insurance company and it's covered but I'm concerned that it will look less than factory.

The scratch is on the passenger side from rear to front bumper and all the way down to the metal. The car is stone white. I'm bringing it into a shop progressive recommend: German motor collision center in San Francisco. I checked yelp and someone with a BMW said their paint looked like earl schib job. I'm concerned.

Does anyone know the process of how they fix this? Will it look like a factory finish? How long does it usually take to fix? And does anyone know of a really good auto body paint shop in San Francisco? Thx!!

Oh man! :( Sorry to hear. Yes, whomever did this IS a real a$$hole.
I don't understand what twisted mind would do this.

I can't help you with locations, but I would put it through insurance, and get it fixed up by the best body shop you can find.

Yeah, you don't have to go to the shop the insurance company recommends. I've found in my experience that they deal with shops that can get you in and out the quickest, but not necessarily do the best job. Forget about looking for shops based on where the BMW guys, or Mercedes guys, etc. go. Look for the shops that are recommended by the classic, hot rod and specialty car guys. Those are the shops that do the best work, and finding them should just be a matter of doing a google search, reading their reviews and making a few visits to check them out.

That sucks. Time to move to a better neighborhood. Seriously, a good shop will make it look like new.

Received an estimate of $2200 they need to remove the handles doors bumpers and do a repaint. Sucks. It will never be factory again

Take your time and find a GREAT shop, get referrals, get reviews. Call a local luxury car dealer and see who they recommend. Look at the shops and ask to be shown examples of their work.

It can look like factory again, but it can look like total shit too. Really be sure you find the right shop.

I have have a Summit and I would take it to Blake's Auto Body. They have several locations in the Bay Area. They produce work as good as or BETTER than factory. They NEVER tape off area to paint. They meticulously remove body parts and paint the piece just like factory. They ONLY use OEM parts. I have had a few sport cars painted by them and their work is AMAZING. They also offer a free, lifetime repair warranty with every repair. http://www.blakesautobody.com/

I think someone needs to come up with some sort of system that hits anyone that comes in contact with another persons vehicle with enough voltage to jump start a space shuttle. They'd think twice before touching someone's car again. Some sort of electrical shield with a big "danger- high voltage" sticker in the window should do the trick.

I am very sorry to hear about this....some people are just too lazy to go out and EARN a JGC so they just get PO'd when they see someone else with the pride to do it and become jealous to the point of stupidity.
