The Quadra Lift Follies ...

So this weekend I decided to rotate the tires. Pulled the JGC into my garage with its nice, flat floor, lowered the vehicle to Park mode, got out two jacks and proceeded to rotate. Found out my hydraulic floor jack with a 15 3/4 inch lift would just barely get the tire off the ground. Interesting. So for the other side I thought, maybe it would be better in OR2 with most of the suspension travel already removed. Nope, that was much worse. So back to the Park mode ... except I couldn't. In accordance with the owner's manual, I had locked out the Quadra Lift while jacking the truck in OR-2, and the only way to unlock it was to drive it over 5 mph. Kinda hard to do in the garage. There was no way the jacks I had (one of which was the stock JGC jack) would work while in OR-2, so I had to drive the Jeep to lower it. Except my garage door is low enough that the Jeep won't go through in OR-2 without scraping the antenna off. Oops.

Long story short, I was able to get the Jeep out of the garage without tearing off the antenna, get the Jeep back into Park mode and complete the job.

While I don't plan on learning this lesson again, I sure wish there was a way other than driving the truck to unlock the Quadra Lift. Anybody know of one?

Yes There is. You should always disable QL when lifting.
To assist with changing a spare tire, the Quadra-Lift™ air suspension system has a feature which allows the automatic leveling to be disabled. Press and hold both the “Up” and “Down” buttons simultaneously between 5 and 10 seconds, a message will appear in the EVIC stating leveling has been disabled immediately after both buttons have been released. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information. Driving the vehicle over 5 mph (8 km/h) will return the air suspension to normal operation.

That's what I did. The problem was that it wouldn't go back down until you drove the Jeep.

You can just unscrew the antenna and remove it. Maybe that's what you did.

That is normal. Next time Just make sure you disable before you lift.

If QL was disabled for jacking (pressing lift and down buttons together for 5 sec), you would not have been able to raise it to OR2.

Correct. I didn't disable the QL when it was Park mode, as I didn't think it could or would do anything ugly. I did disable in when I changed it to OR2, as I suspected a self level in that mode could get very ugly.
