Steel Armadillo Super Sliders

The Steel Armadillo has many great products for your WK & XK as well as other off road vehicles, one such product is the custom made Super Slider for the Grand Cherokee.

I had the pleasure to me Omelet a few months back and install the first WK set on his vehicle:

The sliders are available on our web site for $449.95 plus shipping and are available with the optional side step

Jon,
I love these sliders and intend to get a set but I have a question...I understand that functionality is the number 1 goal when you guys designed these, but I'm curious to one aspect of the design. Why was the front of the slider cut short from where the factory side skirt was located? I'm probably overboard in the attention to detail department but to me it makes the product look unfinished, or "generic" bolt on that doesn't have an exact fit. Here is what I'm referring to:

The Wk posed a unique mounting problem due to the way your front fender attaches, the pocket was necessary to get around your fender bolts. I may be able to come up with a dress cover in the future but it is hard to do when I do not have a WK in the driveway.

As far as the bolt goes, all current sales are shipped with a hex pan head bolt for the two external mounts. The one in the photo was the first ever install and we used the bolts available at the time.

Great questions, keep them coming!

If I were anywhere near you I would be glad to lend a WK. in the meantime, if you need any precise measurements let me know and I'll be glad to help out! Like I said before, I love the sliders, but I think getting that void filled would really finish off your product nicely. Either way, great job!

I'm in the same boat as far as covering that section up...What about just welding a small section on just to cover up the gap?
What about the door sills, does the slider wrap up into there like the 4xguard units?

I definitely like these sliders ALOT, just a couple of tweaks and they'll be perfect!
