Ecb bar passes roo test
After a trouble free 4000k trip from Melbourne 300ks from Perth we hit a roo outside of manjimup while heading for my sisters farm. It was late afternoon and driving into the setting sun so I had slowed to 80 but even so I couldn't stop quickly enough and the roo was hit by the left hand side of the bar pushing the roo down and under the wheels smashing its legs. No damage at all to the car or the bar and after driving to my sisters her husband came back with me to shoot the injured roo.
Jeep has been great, managed high average speeds for 10.6 lp100ks with a rhino roof rack and side canopy though the rhino luggage back split open at the seams (second one of these to fail on us). Tires have worn noticeably in the centre so I have reduced cold pressure to 33 from the 36 I was running to better cope with 130k speed. no oil use noticed, the 75amp thumper battery strapped behind passenger seat has kept the fridge going on our "rest" days. At 22000ks is we are very happy with our purchase.

Re: Ecb bar passes roo test
Roos can be nasty little my experience it isn't the first one across the road you get - it's the second one!
Our previous Patrol had war wounds from a wallaby that hit the passenger rear door and in 30 years living in central Vic I did accumulate quite a score of near misses and the occasional o dear.
Fingers crossed with our new truck - no bullbar and lots of plastic.
Don't even want to think about it.

Good to hear. About to talk to ECB for my 2012 Laredo CRD. Did you have any issues with ECB when they fitted the bar. The felt linings and the aircon etc. Is it all covered by the bar? Did they tidy all that up? Ihave guards fiited underneath ..was that an issue?

Re: Ecb bar passes roo test
Re bar fit
It was done in Melbourne by opposite lock, they didn't report any issues and the bar integrates well underneath leaving nothing exposed. No regrets at all with this purchase specially since it has now saved me a headlight at least! I too have all the guards underneath and rock rails.

Re: Ecb bar passes roo test
Just come from panel shop lasdt two parts should turn up tomorrow (fender, headlight support) 10 weeks since going into shop.
Actual repairs should only take 3 days.
Great car to drive but dont damage it

Re: Ecb bar passes roo test
Like many importers the parts are well behind the demand!

Re: Ecb bar passes roo test
I am interested in fitting a bull bar / nudge bar to my 2012 CRD.
Most of the Aussie after market products can also be purchased in S.A.
Can you guys recommend a product and perhaps post a picture of how your vehicle looks with the ECB bar?
