Has anyone tried the Dodge Challenger Programing in their WK2?

When we bought our 2012 Grand Cherokee with the V6 Penastar. I saw a Dodge Challenger on the showroom floor with the V6 Penastar. I noticed the information said it has 305 hp where our Jeeps have 290hp. I was wondering if would be possible to try the Challenger ECU setting in a Grand Cherokee? The shift points would probably be way off but, why wouldn't our rigs be able to tuned for 305hp from the factory vs. the 290hp we have now? I didn't compare the torque numbers but, I'm guessing our vehicles are probably programed for more torque at the expense of a few horsepower.

Dodge Challenger delivers a powerful and efficient lineup of engines crafted from a legendary lineage and tuned to outperform.305-HP 3.6L Pentastar® V6.Dual Variable Value Timing lets the engine recycle energy instead of rejecting it as heat, improving engine breathing and delivering optimum performance. It is teamed with the five-speed automatic, and delivers 268 lb-ft of torque. It's also Flex Fuel Capable+.

I am refering to testing Dodge Challenger stock programing on a Penastar equipped WK2.

On an independent note: Has the aftermarket cracked the programing code for Challengers yet?

There's also likely some differences in intake and exhaust. The Ram R/T has the same V8 Hemi as everything else, but is rated for 390hp. Supposedly it has less restrictive intake and exhaust.

That should tell us that with intake and exhaust mods, our Jeeps are certainly capable of achieving a substantialy higher horsepower level.

The other option is that our Jeeps actually make the same power as the Ram and there are no differences, and Dodge is underrating the Hemi again/still.

They have a history of underrating them (who knows why in today's day and age), and it was more or less proven on dynos that the 6.1L Hemi was underrated by a decent amount - I wouldn't be surprised to see the 6.4L have the same found, and to hear that the normal Hemis are also making closer to 390hp or more.

They're not talking about the Hemi...

Good point.

In the V6, I would tend to believe that they have in fact tuned it differently (possibly partly through intake/exhaust) to produce more torque at the lower end. Moving a 4k pound Chally vs a 5k pound GC is a much tougher thing to do with 260 torque. Especially if you put it through a full time 4x4 system.

Good points guys!

I just want the shift points fixed. The dead spots and delay between gears are dangerous.

I drove a 2011 and it seemed better than our 2012. Perhaps it had the update?
