Another 10k service story

Just rang my dealer to arrange a 10k service - the conversation went like this after identifying myself and the vehicle....
Service desk lady - "when would you like to book in - we sorted a day, how many K's on the car - 8600 - Oh, we do our Chrysler vehicles at 12k would you like to hold off a bit - how come - well the oils used nowadays are special, high quality and long life - so we service at 12k or 6 months - and you realise that the car has an oil change indicator that will tell you when it needs one - you can go by that if you like - probably save you a bit of money" !!!
Bit more in that vein but as we are heading to Cooktown with the van next week I wanted the service so booked - "now - can I bring my own oil? - no worries so long as it complies with the Chrysler specification in your handbook. If you do we'll note it on the service docket so it is is there as a record."
Needless to say very impressed - I only have one issue to be attended to on the day - can't load photos to hard drive (yeah I know piddly), so we'll see if I am still impressed after the job is done.
Great start for my first service!

You do know that you need to have at least 1 MP3 file on the usb stick in order for the HDD to recognise the USB and be able to then also recognise the images?

Last few cars I've had I have found the after service from the service centres personnel are of top notch. And sometimes worth the extra cost, if reasonable that is.

So is the first service 10k or 12k.

My free was 1500 and am sure I was told the next was 10k.

The diesel is 10,000km, the petrol's are 12,000km

I wished my service department has a clue like yours....

The book says 10k for the diesel.....and at pickup in the dealer run through we were told 10k.
However today the service department certainly knew it was a diesel as part of our conversation.
I'm happy enough with nominal 10K and that was what I expected - the advise that I could extend was a welcome extra.
We had a bit of to and fro after delivery when there was a dealer installed electrical issue that took them a day and a half to sort. They did recognise me and the vehicle so maybe that influenced the conversation.
Anyway gave me a warm and fuzzy.....hopefully the feeling continues into our extended relationship.
