2012 Laredo with Steelcraft Nerf Bars

After looking into all the various side steps (nerf bars) I settled on the Steelcraft 3". I am very happy with the results.

Congrats! They look very nice. I have the chrome tubular side steps myself, but I really didn't have a choice. They serve their purpose though!

Do you mind telling me what you paid for them? Also, where you got them and did you do the install yourself?

Thanks

Thanks

I got them from autoanything ( http://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/73A4540A0A0.aspx ) and used a coupon (PBEB3) and got 15% with free shipping came to $191.

I decided on Steelcraft because they are made in the USA (Corona CA) and I called and spoke to them myself and they provide great service. Plus I think they have the best look of all the ones I looked at, including the Mopar Side Steps.

As for installation, I had my local body shop put them on for $100. I live in a condo and have no place to really do this work myself, but it does not seem to difficult if you have access to a garage and tools. I did watch them do the install and having a lift makes it much easier. Plus they were able to use multiple jacks to really level the bars to where I wanted them(they put a jack under each bracket and use them to get the bars right where I asked and then used there air tools to tighten everything.

Looks great. The step area does look larger than the Mopar bars. Can you stand/bounce on them without any flex? Just curious how sturdy they are with 2 brackets...

Good question regarding their sturdiness. Also, do they offer any protection from door dings?

They are very sturdy. Minimum flex if I jump up and down and none with normal use.

Great protection from door dings. This was one of the reasons zip got them.
