A/C Problems.. Anyone know about A/C?
My A/C doesn't get very cold at all anymore, and before you scream freon, it doesn't cool at ALL through the passenger vents and the rear vents.. I get coldish air from my drivers vents after a while, but like I said nothing but cabin temp air from the rest of the vents.

I read up and found it could be a "blend door" issue? How involved is this to change, if even possible? Any other suggestions as to why it would only blow cold from one set of vents?

oh, and is the blend door the door that moves when you turn your climate control knob from regular air to recirculate? if that is it, then mine works fine as I have already removed the glove box and have witnessed that working properly from what I can tell.

I'm not familiar with the AC of the WK, but the recirculation door is not the blend door. The blend door will let the air pass thru the heater core, or bypass it, when no heat is requested.
The recirculation door will let fresh outside air come into the cabin, or it will recirculate the air inside the cabin.
But it seems that you have a problem with the blend door on the passengers side.

A quick check of your charge will rule that out. I'm not familiar with the newer Jeeps AC setup, but mine has vac control for vent choice. When the vac line broke it wouldn't let it switch between vents.

How can I check my charge without having to pay the stealer $100 for a diagnostic on the system? Was told if they found a leak, that's another $240 to evac and refill after fixing whatever was leaking..

scjeep is talking about a vacuum actuator, which was used on manual AC systems on WJs, but i think that the WK is electrical controlled.
I think you better take the jeep to an AC specialist to service the system, is probably much cheaper then the stealer. That should solve the problem on the drivers side, but the passengers side seems to be a blend door problem.

You can use the nozzle supplied on these recharge kits you get from any store. but if your not familiar with them you may be better off going to a shop.

K guys thanks, I found a local shop that it supposed to do a free a/c check and i guess I will go from there. I have an extended warranty that's about to run out in 400 miles or so, but the dealer isn't sure the extended warranty place will cover it, and wants the jeep for atleast 3 days.. so, well see I will post back with updates!
