Painted parts help

I live in Atlanta and have a jeep grand Cherokee 2012 that I plasti dipped (the grill and back bar) and want a more permanent solution such as paint for these parts. I've called all over the place and local car shops will not paint these chrome parts. Where around here sands the chrome off and can paint over it to match my brilliant black exterior? Please help me out!

I definitely would but I'm new to this forum and don't know how to take parts off my car, send them, pay for it, ect. I think it would just be easier to go to a local body shop but I can't find one!

Just paint them yourself. Its easy. I didn't have clue what I was doing when I first came to this forum. I spent a bunch of time searching, reading and asking questions. The members here are happy to help you and now I am doing things that a year or so ago I was paying someone else to do.

Buy your self some paint here http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ (make sure to get adhesion promoter, paint and clear coat). Do a little searching here and you will be good to go.

Good luck and let us know if you need help.

Re: Painted parts help

If you're not comfortable doing this work yourself and are having difficulty locating a GOOD body shop willing to do the work, I recommend contacting your local Lexus dealer. Lexus does not do their own bodywork, but usually has a top-notch local shop that does it for them. In my case they did such a good job repairing my wife's Lexus that I decided to have them do the work on my 2012 Overland, painting all the chrome pieces--grille mirror covers, door handles and rear hatch chrome strip, including even grinding off the Jeep logo on the chrome strip. They were a bit reluctant at first about painting the chrome, but they were willing to research and consult with others and finally decided that, while they couldn't warranty it, they were confident that they could do the job right, and that I should have no future problems.
And they did indeed do a beautiful job for me. I couldn't be happier.

A top-notch shop may cost a bit more, but the results are worth it!
