Re: centre console removal
I removed the face panel around the media center for back access, drilled a hole in the rear left corner opposite of the power outlet for the radio wires/cable and tucked 1" foam blocks on top of the radio. The setup has worked extremely well for a year and a half.

It's pretty easy. To remove the center storage pocket completely, it's about a 5 minute job.

Per ColdCase's post, here is a direct link to the interior trim removal.

Let us know if you run into any problems.

Re: centre console removal
I fitted a Tekonsha p3 into the little cubby.....not really a difficult job although the brake controller is a tight fit and you will need to leave a bit of slack in the wiring at the back so you can pull the controller forward to access the plug. Mine is 3m taped to the rubber mat - stays in place no worries.
You will need to disconnect some electrical connectors to get the console and fascia out - word of warning, don't turn the ignition on to test anything while connectors are unplugged - it will upset the canbus.
Good luck
