18's or 20's?
My Laredo X has the factory 18's and I'm considering the change to 20's.
I am very happy with ride quality of my jeep and I'm concerned about the change. Any feedback from those that have made the switch is appreciated.

i did the switch a few months ago and love it. i personally dont notice much of a difference in ride, and as far as looks go its a no brainier IMO. hope that helps.

You will get more ride variation between tire brands that 18/20s. Typically 18s ride a little soft with a slower turn in but are also less susceptible to road hazard damage. I run 18s winter and 20s summer and notice very little riding comfort difference.

Re: 18's or 20's?
I bought a Limited last December with the 18's. I traded it in April and this one has 20's. I can say that the 18's ride smoother, but it's not a big difference. Then again, I switched to 22's on my last SUV so I knew what to expect. The only big difference is over bumps or bad spots in the pavement. I get more of a jolt in the steering wheel. The 20's for what ever reason, just seem to handle better and turning the wheel seems tighter and not as sloppy. I am very happy with the change.

Thanks all for your responses. No doubt I prefer the look of the 20's compared to the stock 18's, now I just need to decide on which style.

Re: 18's or 20's?
I went form the 20's to 18's.
I'd never go back to 20's on my Jeep again.
The ride is better and the handling is the same, no discernable difference. The tire choice for the 18's are also much better then the 20's for AT tires which is what I was looking for.

Good luck in your decision making.

I still have my 20's mounted, and balanced with the tpms sensors for sale if interested; only 712 miles on them.

I was going to make the same comment about tires. I like the 20s - they look great, other than making the brakes look tiny. The real issue for me was the tires choices in 20". I wanted a top notch all season and knew I would be ditching the Lattitudes immediately. But the available all seasons in the correct size for 20" were not rated all that great. In particular finding one that did well in snow and ice was a problem. If you only have to deal with 3 seasons or you run a separate winter tire then I'd go with the 20s. Otherwise just be aware of the limited choices in 20".

Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/50R-20 are a good all-around tire if you want 20" wheels from all I researched. I just had a ride in a 2012 Grand that has them, sorry no pics, and it rode really well. Quiet too, and the owner, a customer of a friend of mine, told me they did great in the snow and decent in the mud at his cottage in Michigan's UP. I'm getting these sometime later this summer and will do a review at some point after a few thousand miles. Another member on JeepGarage has a review up as well. All is not lost if you want to run 20s!

Agreed. These are outstanding performers on LR3s and those people are some very particular people when it comes to gear. Let us know how these work out for you if/when you get them, please.
