Key(fob) remote not working

Hola people:
So i had an issue start this week and i thought it was a bad battery at first, but it's not, since i've changed it out: my key/remote just stopped responding out of nowhere. Has anyone else had this happen? It's been great for the duration that i've owned it, then just died. Now - when i lock and unlock manually, my alarm goes off until i start the Jeep - embarrassing at the new job

Anyway - are there any tricks to try or do i have to get a new internal piece? Thank ya!

This happened to me unfortunately. What you have to do is go to the dealership and get them to reset the WCM. I had this problem multiple times and it just happened again the other day, but I when I started it this time it start right up.

Once you take it to the dealership, they'll tell you that there is a code. They might charge you for it though.

Thanks for the reply Paul! What's the WCM? I'm familiar with every other "CM", so i thought. Does this have anything to do with PCM/TCM - in other words - do i need to reset any of my shiot?

Oh - just found out that my other key works ok. Is this specific to a key - i assume? No wait - the other key works now - ugh. Guess it's the WCM (whatever that is) within the Jeep.

Wireless control module...

Typically the problem is the battery retainer... hit all 3 mounts with a soldering iron, add some solder if required and I can almost guaranty all will be good ;)

Typically if a dealer needs to reset something there is another underlying cause... Not that I would have ANY idea what that is over the interwebz. Personally I have never had to reset a wcm to repair a key problem.

Thanks Andrew! Is it pretty straight forward? Never really looked in there. I'll google and open the key, but of you have any additional info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for this!

I'm on my phone so no link but there is a post on the topic recently in the wk troubleshooting forum with a picture.

There are a couple threads on here about this issue...mine would intermittently work then not, and I found for me it was the contact of the battery and the terminal...I added a little tape inside the back cover and now there is consistent contact. Been over a year since it hasn't worked
