Check Engine, check guages, fan on high
I've been all over the Internet looking for an answer to this. I'm hoping someone here has seen or ehard of this before...
My Jeep is a 2005 Wrangler SE with 2.4L4 engine. The Check engine light is on and the following codes are returned:
P0443 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit
P0483 Cooling Fan Rationality Check Malfunction
P0499 Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve Control Circuit High
The CHECK GUAGES light is also on even though all guages read normal, even the coolant temp guage.
The electric radiator cooling fan runs all the time and only on high regarless of coolant temp. It comes on even when the engine is first started and not even warmed up yet.
I have changed the Emission Control System Purge Control Valve and the Coolant Temperature Sending unit without any change.
The engine doesn't seem to overheat at all. The heater throws heat as expected and the upper radiator hose gets as hot as expected once the engine warms up sugesting that coolant flows through the thermostat.
Doea anyone have any ideas what to try next? I'm thinking for a trip to the local Jeep dealership but figured it would be worth a shot here first.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Check Engine, check guages, fan on high
I don't know if I'm about to break and forum rules... But here it goes I'm just trying to help a fellow jeeper out.

I would try posting that exact post on in the tj section. There is a huge wealth of information on that forum and guys who are very knowledgeable about jeeps.

Sorry I couldn't help more, and hopefully the mods let this post ride and give me my spanking via pm.
Good luck.

Im not familiar with this type of jeep, but it seems that all problems are related to the PCM. I would start removing all PCM connectors (first disconnect the negative battery lead), check them for any corrosion or moisture, clean them well with electrical contact cleaner and put it all together again and test.

I dont really see many of these with the 2.4, that said, as Frank said, both of your evap circuit faults are in connector 3 at the pcm, there is no shared circuit but they do both use that connector, make sure the connector is clean and free of moisture and other contaminants.

I havent messed with a cooling fan concern like this before, I know for subaru this code is typically an indication of a head gasket failure, the code sets when the fan is turned on and it doesnt lower the temperature of the coolant... This happens when there is no/low coolant. I would check your coolant level.
