Transmission shifting

I notice that when I try to park my wk2, it is a hard shift from D to R to P. Is that normal, or should I take it to the dealership?

There is a TSB for this, take it into the Dealership.

Re: Transmission shifting

Is the ground on which you parked a bit sloped? On a sloped ground, when you stop and put the car in park, it rolls and stops. When this happens, I have noticed on pretty much all vehicles I have driven (automatic tranys), it takes a bit of effort to shift from P -> R -> D. I think it is normal. I have made it a habit for many years to stop, shift to nuetral, push/pull parking brake and then shift to park. Try that and you should see that it will not be "hard" when shifting away from park. If it still requires an effort, then a trip to the dealership might be necessary.

Pumas does it do it on flat level ground?

Um, at times it does. But i live on a hill so maybe I don't notice it. I would say yes because I try to park it on straight road.

I will check it out next time I drive, and if I notice it, I will take it to the dealership. Is it covered under warranty? I bought it new a month ago.
