Problem with automatic headlights

I have a 2012 GC Overland and the headlights don't come on automatically even though switch is set to "A" for automatic. It happened a week ago and was fine until tonight . Does anyone know if there is a sensor that senses when it's dark, and if so where it is located? I checked to see if there is a fuse but according to the manual there doesn't seem to be one. Any info would be helpful.

older models(wk1) its on the forward part of the dash under the windshield like a little nub doubt its the issue. if you locate it try covering it up during daylight see if they come on than. manual dosent mention its locale?

So the green headlight indicator is not lighting up even at night? Or is it that your dash lights are not dimming?

The green light on the dash does light up when the light switch is turned. The headlights weren't coming on at night when switch was on "A" for automatic and nor was the green light. I covered the sensor today and the automatic headlights are working now. I'm wondering if its because I washed the car yesterday. I'll wait and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

They are not as sensitive as our other car. It needs to be DARK for them to come on.

Perhaps cuz the new ones have daytime running lights

That's interesting AAAA. Mine are just the opposite. They come on way before dark. Go figure.

Sorry. Mine are more sensitive than I said.
