2012 JGC Tranny Issue

Greetings All,
Recently purchased a 2012 JGC 3.6L and have discovered a tranny issue that has me concerned.
In first gear under load my transmission is spiking and not kicking down until 2800 to 3000 rpm.
Sometimes under the same pedal depression it does kick down within the acceptable 2000 rpm.
This is my fourth Cherokee and all my past vehicles always kick down within 2000 rpm.
I have a very sensitive foot and let the power curve of the vehicle dictate acceleration so it is not like I am hammering the gas pedal.
I worry this rpm spike is going to add up to premature wear on the engine.
Am I looking at a problem here or are these spikes harmless.
I notice to date there is only a TSB for the 2011 (18-012-11A)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is it a sudden spike or just revving normally to those speeds and then upshifting? If it's just normally revving then it's pretty normal. This is a heavy vehicle and while the V6 does a good job of moving it around it needs to work to do it. Also, 3000rpm is nothing and shouldn't cause any long term damage to the engine.

Doesn't seem out of line to me.

I guess I would characterise it as a normal gradual revving however 3000 seems out of the ordinary based on my past experience.
I guess in the grand scheme it is obviously not redlining, just makes me uncomfortable as I have come to expect first gear peak at 2K.
The fact that sometimes it actually does kick at 2K makes me expect it to always adhere to that.
If the concensus is that 3K is not a sinister number than my mind is eased.
Many thanks
