Water pump 5.7L 2005 GC HELP!
I am doing the water pump on my 2005 GC 5.7L with the QDII. I have everything but the pulley's off the old pump and radiator/fan out. I am looking at it waiting for the new part to come until I unbolt the old one. Do I HAVE to take off the fan/shroud assembly for this? Or can I unbolt the pump and slide it out up or down through the space to get it out? I can't find - write-ups or videos of doing this for my specific vehicle!

Any help would be nice, Thanks!

Got the pump off. Didn't take off idler pulley...or take out fan shroud or fan anything...will this new one be as easy to slide out as it is to slide in and bolt on?! Blue locktight on the bolts...hoses back on fill her up and start her? That easy? Just looking for any "heads" up.

Thanks again.

I never took off my shroud. This was two years ago though. Did you put a new t-stat in and flush the system?

Re: Water pump 5.7L 2005 GC HELP!
I haven't got to putting the new pump on yet. It is in the mail. I have new t-stat, actually two..but I don't know weather to put the 180 in or leave the 203 in. Who knows. Just wanted to make sure if I physically took the old pump off and took it out, is it simply taking the torx 50 or whatever off the idler pulley and remounting it after i put the pump in and torque the bolts down....put everything back in including filling her up with fluid. I did not flush the system tho...did everything BUT taking out the drain plugs. Radiator, resivoir and hoses are off.
