Re: How to Remove Paint
Try a clay bar. After that try scratch-x.

a simple compound is all you need or a cleaner wax

That shit is strong. I'd start with an automotive purpose chemical or at least dilute the goo-gone down with water.

Re: How to Remove Paint
thanks for the suggestions. i used scratchX 2.0 and it removed the paint without any problems. now i'm left with a pretty deep scratch in my passenger side door handle.

Wet sand it with 1500 grit and polish it with M105 or M205 with a PC7424 if you happen to have one.

Re: How to Remove Paint
take a bat.... and smash it in... you wont notice the scratch anymore. (thats terrible advice dont listen to me)

Try a good compound first if you cant tell the scratch is already down through the paint (ive personally always been a fan of the 3m rubbing compound). If its down through the base coat you can even it out with some wet sanding... but at the end of the day it may need to be touched up.
