Magnaflow 22" or 24"?

Hey guys,
I am trying to decide on which magnaflow to get. I am looking at either a 22" or a 24" single in, dual out muffler. I have a 4.7 v8 laredo. I know the 22 inch is probably louder, but I am not sure if the 24" will be too close to stock. I have an 18" magnaflow on it right now, however there is a crazy amount of drone, which I was not expecting with an 18". I want little to no drone, but still want to be able to hear a nice deep sound. So what do you guys suggest? A 22" or a 24" magnaflow? Let me know what you guys have and how it works for you! Thanks

Why don't you get a full magnaflow catback exhaust?

The mangaflow full cat back is really expensive. That's at least why I'm not getting it

Exactly the same reason why I am not getting it. Gotta same some money. I am just looking at replacing the muffler for now.

im running a 24" magnaflow. the reason i went 24" is its the closest length to stock and although its louder- there is no drone and it sounds very tame. but when you stomp on it and get those RPMs up, it def sounds amazing. very content with this muffler and it wasnt that expensive. the closer to the stock size you are the less drone and more mellow the sound is. its a grand cherokee so i didnt want it to sound TOO obnoxious.

I have the mag 24'', 3'' in/out. Sounds great, with the SRT manifolds its pretty darn loud.... but has a great tone that is much more civil than flowmaster.

when i say obnoxious i think of a flowmaster 40 series kid of obnoxious- drone at cruising speeds, alitte louder than need be, you just regret putting it on there after a few months.... ive ran the 24" for a year and a half and cant complain one bit. idles nicely, def sounds awesome when you crack into it.

my stock muffler had to be replaced at 61k- for some reason it destroyed the baffles inside so it was pretty much a hollowed out muffler. sounded ok, but just horrible performance. so when they replaced it with the 24" i was louder than stock but it was a subtle increase in sound. youll like it.. had a guys top in the parking lot yesterday and ask me if my jeep was a special edition because it "sounded different". lol

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I ended up going with the 24 inch magnaflow just to be safe, and I love it. Just a bit of drone when going up hills, but other than that quiet on the inside and it gives a nice rumble on the outside when you step on it. I would definitely recommend it if you don't want your jeep to sound too loud and obnoxious.
