Hemi high idle

I have a 07 gc with 72000 miles on it .when I start it warm or cold it goes right to about 1400 rpm and after about 30 seconds idles down to normal , is this an issue with these i've seen allot of comments about dodge trucks with this but not jeeps. Any help would be appreciated, other then that it runs fine

have you made any engine mods recently? more specifically anything to do with induction or aspiration?

first thing I would do is reset the computer. disconnect the negative battery terminal, pump brakes, reconnect. that will hard reset your computer and relearn it's air intake.

should be pretty normal to high idle a little with an intake, but 1400 seems a bit excessive

Its pretty normal for a hemi... I always wait till mine idles down to shift out if park, and when I get into customers cars for the first cold start in the morning it drives mr crazy how long it can take to idle down.

Mine does the same pretty much everytime. Goes right back down after a few seconds.

Yeah, mine doesn't take 30 seconds, but after maybe 3-4 seconds it's back to idle.

Thanks for the response I saw your post on the rust, my 2007 WK looked about the same when I got under there I realized it looked worse then it was. I've used other products in the past but came across Rust Bullet . It works great it dries gray but it dries very hard and kills the rust I then went over it with Rustoleum and it looks and lasts very well. Check out their site....

Mine behaves similar. I usually use remote start so I hadn't noticed until I paid attention.
