SRT Experience Reviews

Just did the SRT experience at Raceway Park in NJ yesterday. It was absolutely worth the hour plus drive for me from PA. They had all kinds of new SRTs, and I loved getting to pound each one.

Non driving impressions: this thing was first class. Great breakfast and lunch; plenty of snacks and water throughout the day; no walking (they shuttled us around in minivans), super friendly staff; it was amazing to see the parking lot full of SRTs, including several WK2s (I didn't bring mine because I don't usually drive it long distances and in traffic, etc); met several nice guys, including the guy who owned the black SRT I had just happened to see driving home from work the other day (it had been the first one I'd seen on the road ever since December); gave a flash drive attached to your ID that you used to record your drives (it didn't work so well...when I got home several videos were missing. Good concept though)

Driving impressions: Autocross, driving on a 30 second zig-zag course around cones was fun (I got my best time in the Jeep); doing the "SRT Face-off" was even better, a quick 0-60 drag with real start lights and then a 60-0 brake in a small stop box, and then small autocross to finish; of course, the road course was great in the afternoon. I got up to 105 mph in a challenger on a straightaway! The only problem with the road course was that the instructors you had to follow were kind of inconsistent with their speeds. Some went fast and others slower, with no seemingly rhyme or reason. There were some really hard turns and the SRTs took them all wonderfully. The instructors REALLY took them hard and was alot of fun sitting in with them. Do that if you have the time.

Again, overall, absolutely do it. The best part about it was that I have a newfound appreciation for my Jeep. I haven't had a chance to challenge it much over the past 6 months with my 3 kids and all. But now, I take the little things when I can around corners, through little straightways, etc. Every car there was pretty much bone stock and performed as racecars. These cars rock. The Jeep was the most fun to drive in the Autocross and SRT face-off, while the 300 was the most fun to drive on the road course.

Only a few came out, but I can try. I don't use Youtube, so I'm not sure how that would work?

Glad you enjoyed it too! I agree that the videos all looked like you were driving pretty slowly when I know that wasn't the case.

About the 300.....why the heck is there an ugly looking old analog clock right above that awesome huge powerful touchscreen? Of course, that was the only problem I had with the car, so that's not bad.

yes someone did Boston, but i'm sure it wasn't me.......:) i will refrain from posting my personal driving videos because frankly they are completely boring outside of my dropping F' bombs while racing around the track and not knowing there was a mic in the car. below are videos i took while at the experience.

i am reluctantly posting this video, as i am in retart mode, i cannot multitask. i can't think and talk at the same time, so ignore me, retart on the left. anyhow i think it would be cool to some more videos to the thread.

That lady was driving the Jeep all day when I was there, too. It was amazing how the hot lap drivers just kind of had a nice, relaxing conversation while they're throwing down the hard turns.

BTW, did they let anyone push the cars a bit or were they strict?

I am signed up for the WGI SRT experience in September.........
