2011 Overland or 2012 Laredo X?

I was looking thrue my dealers lot while my compass was getting its oil changed yesterday and i came across a used 2011 Wk2 black overland 4x4 fully loaded with everything with 29k miles for $37500. I also looked at a brand new maroon 2012 Laredo X with almost all of the options of the overland except air conditioned seats, they are asking $38750 for this jeep. Im thinking about trading my 11' compass for a wk2 but which one would be the better deal? do you think i might get a better deal if i haggle for the used overland or should i go with the new Laredo X? Thanks:thumbsup:

Would have to say go with the '12 Laredo X, if for nothing else than the warranty. I have an '11 Laredo X (hemi) and haven't regretted it once in the 20 months, 31k miles I've had it.

That seems like way too high of price for the miles on that used Overland. Personally, I suggest you decide exactly what trim level and options you want and what the the best prices are that everyone is paying and find exactly what color exterior and interior you want or order it. You can order 2013's now and they start building them the first week of July. $38,750 is way too high for the new 2012 Laredo X as well.

Those are horrible prices. I paid $37,325 for my new 2011 loaded overland last August.

First off the OP, a Laredo will never have almost all of the options of an Overland. Im not saying there is anything wrong with the Laredo, but options wise the list is extensive. Im sure you just arent fully aware of what all is available, but if you do a little research there is a LOT on the Overland and thats not even including one with the adaptive cruise tech package.

As far as those prices go those sound extremely high. $37,500 before taxes on a 30,000 mile couple year old Overland????!?!? I paid $39,600 before taxes on my new 2012 Overland with adaptive cruise.

Between the two vehicles I would recommend an Overland, but thats just me because I like all the toys.

I don't think the price for the Overland is that bad for a 4x4 v8 model. You've got to remember, a 2WD Overland is $4k less than a 4x4, and a V6 is another $2k less than a V8. And if it's fully loaded with everything, that adds another $5k for DVD, ACC, CHrome, and ORA2. So that was a vehicle that was $51k when new.

It depends on your preference. The cooled seats, nicer leather, leather dash, and air suspension were worth it to me, but to many others they may not be. If they're not important to you, why not look for a used Laredo X and save yourself some extra money? You can buy an extended warranty that will be better than the one that comes with the car for like $2k.

Thanks for the advice, im going to go back monday and see if i can get them to knock the price down on the new 12' Laredo X, it has all the options that i want including Nav and the single pane sunroof and plus id rather have a new car with 0 miles and full warranty. I hope they will give me a fair price on my 11' compass since i bought 2 cars from them in the past, most recently the compass, They know that if i don't get what i want that i will walk out without hesitation. gonna get my boxing gloves and brass balls on..lol:D

I agree with the posts already made regarding the pricing...I paid $1k+ less then that for my brand new overland last november....granted mine has the V6. I haven't checked into pricing lately, but I'd think you could get into a brand new '12 overland within a couple grand of that number.

I went to the dealer today and i took home a 12' Laredo brilliant black 4x2 to try for a day, i must say the ride is very smooth and engine is much more quieter than on the compass,I actually really like it, Im kinda torn right now, the deal stands as follows payment $470 a month 4.5% apr financing and dealer pays sales tax. I need some advice before i turn it in at 5pm tomorrow. Thanks

Re: 2011 Overland or 2012 Laredo X?

If you live in an area that gets snow be sure to get 4x4. If you live in Florida, Houston, San Diego, or LA or similar then 4x2 is fine (unless you want to take it on vacation skiing). Sorry, I don't know about the price. Others will chime in. You need to provide what engine, what options and how many months payments will be required and what down payment. It's better to talk overall price, not monthly payments to begin with.

edit: your name on here is gc4x4, but you're considering a 4x2. ???
