2005 WK Limited Vs 2006 Overland Vs 2008 Limited

Hi there all I have been looking to upgrade my 1998 cherokee and have settle on the WK. Seems like a good size and has lot more features that what I will be stepping up from.

That aside, I am looking at the following three cars all are in pretty good condition but with different amount of miles:

2005 Limited with 5.7l it is loaded with everything, body is in good shape, it will need new tires though. Mileage is 92k Cost is $12k or below

2006 Overland, good condition, good tires, comes with second set of winter studded tires. Mileage is 120k cost is $13.5k

2008 Limited with 4.7l, it is loaded and in good clean condition, had a fender bender that was repaired, I have seen the photos of before and after and the invoice for the repair. Mileage is 130k cost is $12k

What are your thoughts on these? Are the prices in line with what they should be and anything to avoid?

Thanks.
Ryan

I'd go with the 2005.

Lowest mileage.

Biggest engine.

Lowest price.

Of course I'm partial to the '05, but I think it's the best deal. Personally I would never buy a vehicle that's been in a wreck. Repaired or not, you never know what the damage did to the frame, or anything else.

That is what I have been thinking. It seems that it has everything the overland has, I like the wood steering wheel though so maybe I can switch that out.

I like my 4.7 but I have to agree, go with the lower milaged one.

I would go with anything that did not have a 4.7 or 3.7. My 08 Limited with 4.7 is the worst Jeep I have ever owned. It sounds like it is going to blow apart when it is cold. The lifters make noise and I hear a clanking noise in the front of the engine until it is warmed up. The dealer tells me that all of the 3.7 and 4.7 engines make noise cold. Bull !! I don't want to start it if anyone is around. If you buy a 4.7 tell them not to start it until you are on the lot and can start it cold. A used car lot in my area told me that he always starts 4.7 Dodges and Jeeps up before the customer can hear them cold. I just want to get rid of this Jeep.

With those high miles its hard to say. I like the overlands. I would get an overland if i coulddo it over. I also really like my 2008 4.7.

personally i would look elsewhere..... too many miles on them for the price. i bought my 06 three years ago from a dealer with 30k miles for what you are going to pay for an older vehicle with more than triple the mileage

You can find one for better price. Don't be in any hurry. Stay away from the high mileage Jeeps.

I just bought an 06 4.7 Laredo, leather, sunroof, towing package, etc. With 83,000 miles for $11,000. So I think you should look around and be patient. I waited about 6 months until I found this one. So unless you need a new vehicle asap, i'd check around. Good luck!

I bought my 05 5.7L Limited about 2 months back, fully loaded with 58,000 miles for under $12,000. An older woman had it and just had new tires put on. Like the others said if you don't need it right now, be patient. A better one will come along.

Thanks guys ... I am holding off for awhile. My 1998 XJ is about to fall apart but I will just drive it until it does, hopefully it will quit in front of a salvage yard or somewhere close.

I looked at the overland, very nice features but too much wear for the price like you said. Boise is a poor market for these vehicles so that is why I think the prices are high but like a few of you said just wait it out and something will come along.
