Check Engine Light And Code P0700
On my 2004 Jeep WJ 4X4 4.7 H.O,Just driving home from work and the Check Engine light comes on and i get P0700.....pulled over and turn the jeep off and on and still there:confused::confused::confused::confused::mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad: Anyone have trouble with this code....

you need to go to autozone or somewhere with an obd2 scanner and get the code after the p0700. Its a tranny code and is usually a speed sensor....but we need the full code to see.

Is indeed a generic transmission failure code. Did the tranny act strange? There are quite a few failure possibilities, so you realy need to have it scanned to know what it is. If there was no strange behaviour at all, you could decide to reset the fault by disconnecting the battery and see if it comes back again.

Like Scott and Frank said, have it scanned at a parts store, they usually do it for free compared to a repair shop. My first 2 guesses would be speed sensors or shift solenoid.
