New to the V6
I had a 2010 grandcherokee with the hemi but ended up trading it in for a 2011 basic Laredo with the v6. I miss the power of the hemi but am happy with the gas mileage of the v6. My question to you guys is when I am in traffic I miss pushing the gas down and taking off to be able to switch lanes, is there any thing I can do to my V6 to increase throttle response or HP? I am new to Modicfication, so I am not sure weather a CIA or new exhaust or a chip would help. Thanks in advance for the responses!!

Re: New to the V6
cai, exhaust and ported tb should help

Re: New to the V6
before you consider a CAI, new exhaust and a ported throttle body make sure you check the dyno charts. Dont get fooled by peak hp and torque numbers especially for ported TBs look at the the total area under the curve. You will spend very little time at peak hp and torque.

Re: New to the V6
Where can I find information like that?

Re: New to the V6
Ive added all three of those I mentioned and I felt a significant increase in the butt dyno, throttle repsosne etc.

If you have Select Trac turn it to "Sport" and it helps out quite a bit. I too am disapointed in the ability of the V-6 to be able to zip in and out of traffic without a lot of planning.

I do not have the select trac. I miss my hemi power.

You can use the slapstick or whatever jeep calls it and downshift if necessary for passing purposes.

Ya but that's a hassle vs just pushing the gas and taking off

Re: New to the V6
I've also downgraded to the V6 from typically faster vehicles/engines. With that said I'm pleased with the V6 overall, although it lacks real oomph at times. I think they should have geared it better for lower end torque like Nissan does the 4.0L Frontier/Xterra, but I digress.
Adding intakes and everything will only mildly increase power, you'll never get that oomph you're looking for IMO unless you threw on like a turbo/super charger, but those don't exist yet, and then you have to weigh cost vs. just buying the hemi.
I too have found downshifting it is the most effective method of getting her some go, but truth be told, 1st from a stop has almost no go power. My wife's 3.0L V6 Escape with the 6-speed auto has more get up and go than my Jeep. :(

Realm, now that is very disapointing to hear.

When our engines are rated at very close to 300hp and the programing won't even allow the vehicle to even get out of its own way, we have problem!

Re: New to the V6
This same scenario is why I traded after four months to a V8. The V6 was good, but the daily travel in stop and go traffic finally got to annoying to keep it.
