Heavy towing
I know there is at least one person here who tows close to the 5K limit. I'm looking for some comments on how the SRT handles it.

I tow a 16' V-Nose that loaded out weighs about 4800 lbs. I have a weight distributing hitch and the Overland 4WD V8 pulled it perfectly through the flatland and the mountains last summer. I'm just about to close a deal on an SRT and trade the Overland so I"m looking for some positive reinforcement that I'm not taking a step backwards in the towing department.

I don't know about the other person but I tow with my SRT often:

Racecar 2700 lbs. trailer 1200 lbs. equipment+driver+miscellaneous 600+ lbs.

It tows like a dream.... to the point where I have to set the cruise control because I have caught myself (in shock) at how smooth it tows at 95+ mph........

Go for it, you won't regret it......

Re: Heavy towing

You were the one I was thinking of when I posted this, thanks.

Btw, what's the tongue weight of your rig? It doesn't look like it sits as low as I would expect considering it doesn't have rear airbags.

Re: Heavy towing
Tongue weight? That is a very good question......

I am going to have to get back to you on that....:)

Re: Heavy towing
Well, if it tows great then it's at least 10%. My guess would be around 500 lbs. mine comes in closer to 700 because of how I have to load the trailer so the weight distributing hitch solves that problem.
