fan belt

Hello, I need to see a page on changing the fan belt on a 2005 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7

Remove that air intake tube between the intake manifold and the air filter assembly. Using the right tool, release the belt tension by rotating the tensioner clockwise, keep rotating until the belt can be removed and there you go.

Re: fan belt

As another tip, the routing diagram that came with the 05's is incorrect, so make sure you draw your own diagram before pulling off the fan belt.

If you don't have a long ratchet or breaker bar, go to your local autozone/oreillys/etc and rent the loaner tool for the serpentine belt for free.

As theyoungjeepguy said, all you have to do is remove the resonator box to get to the serpentine belt. There should be a 10mm bolt holding that down and the 8mm bolt/screws that attach to the TB and the actual airbox. Once you pull that out of the way, it should be smooth sailing for you. 15 minute job or less.

Good call. I use my 24" chrome breaker bar with the 3/8" adapter (both from HF) to get the job done quickly.

Sheesh yeah, for $17.99 ON SALE, I'd rather drive a distance to get the loaner tool for free and still come out ahead after gas (both ways).
