First long drive with JGC

This weekend was my first time driving the GC for an extended stretch. It's only 700 miles but it solidified my belief that I made a great purchase! Space for the rear passenger is awesome! Speed pickup and uphill climb to northern AZ seemed effortless (V6 only). I also appreciated the way the GC doesn't just immediately pick up speed when you coast on long winding downhill roads.

That's all

the better it coasts the less drag it has so although its easier to deal with cuz you dont have to keep hitting the brakes its less efficient

I just drove over 1200 miles these past four days and averaged over 25mpg. :)

Oh that's what I forgot to add to my post... I did 26.1 mpg, that was a nice surprise. Heading out to San Diego for the 4th so we'll see how that one goes.

When I see people claiming the >25 mpg, was that your average for a whole tank, whole trip, or a short stretch? I'd have a real tough time averaging that for a tank. I recently came back from a trip as well (400 mi 1-way). During the initial 30-mile stretch of 2-lane, cruise set at 62 mph, no wind, we did average 25.7 per evic. However, once we got on freeway, turned against the wind, and drove ~ 75 mph, it dropped significantly, and we averaged 22.5 - 23 for the tank/trip. That was non-ethanol. I was still very pleased. I have a tough time believing averaging >25 mpg for a whole tank -- unless you are driving 60, no wind, no hills, etc.

The average I posted was for my whole trip. I'll have to check again for this upcoming trip, have to remember to look at it right when I get to destination and then reset for the trek back.

I reset my EVIC about 5 miles after I left home, and when I got back 4 days and over 1200 miles later, the display average was 25.1 mpg. Most of this was interstate; about 1/2 was signed for 70 mph, and I typically set the cruise at 5 over unless I'm passing and set it to 7 over.

When I got to my first destination in central PA the display read 25.4.

These MPGs are crazy. I drove 900 miles this past week and averaged around 17. Speed was 75MPH for 90% of trip.

17 is terrible for that motor. Are your driving habits causing this or is there something wrong with the engine?
