2 month old premium leather splitting / rear deck peeling

Help!

I have a 2012 Black Grand Cherokee Laredo X 4x4 with a 3.6 Pentastar engine and Navigation 430N Sunroof Premium Leather. Well two months in my premium leather is splitting maybe even ripping. Also I carried a dog carrier on the rear drivers side seat layed down and some dog hair got into the carpet. Well when I went to vacumm the back of the seat the felt like material (only on the back of the seat) turned into this wierd fuzzy fur and looks 20 years old. I took the car to the dealer who took digital images of the back of the seat and rip in the leather and sent them to Chrysler.

According to dealer the warranty was approved but could be charged back if upon inspection Chrysler deems the problems to be a result of me. So the dealer says I have to pay for the reapirs first then be issued a credit back once 2 or 3 weeks go by and the repairs are not charged back..

Does this sound right to anyone???
And also anyone else having problems with the premium leather???

Doesn't sound right to me. If its under the warrenty then the dealer should not be asking you for any money down. My dad had a warrenty claim and the dealer after approving it changed my dad wk2 for another one exactly the same. I would call chrysler derictly and ask questions.

I am working with Chrysler a case manager anmed Chris who last week told me "we will get your seats fixed" and this week does not return my call. Gave me a special 800 number and 7 digit extention. First time I called a nice pleassant mesage saying to leave a message and my call would be returned. Second time I caled just a beep. Calls have yet t be returned. I actually took a video and am going to place it on youtube in the next couple days.

Dude forget that money out of pocket business.

If you have to pay your best bet is to replace the whole interior with Katzkins leather. You can pick and chose your own color combos. Its better than the leather you get in your Jeep too.

I think one quote was like 7 or 800 dollars for the whole car.

I will sell the damn thing and be done with Jeep Chrysler or Dodge if they do not fix it. Why would I want to spend money to repair their cheap shoddy material. anyone with black premium leather knows exactly what I am talking about. It is paper thin and the cheap fur like stuff they put on the back of the seats is even worse. Understand I paid extra for leather, they did not give it to me.

I have bought 5 brand new Chrysler model cars in the last 6 years. I had a fuel problem with a 11 Dakota other then that no real problems. I really though for some reason expected this. And if this is how they treat someone who keeps buying their cars, to hell with them.

I will sell the car at a loss and post on every forum, every rip pff website every blog, every dinner party cocktail party pig pickin turkey shoot I ever attend in my life what a ripoff Chrysler is. As they say I'll scream if from every mountaintop but one thing I will not do is pay for their shoddy cheap leather seats to be replaced when I just spent $35000 for a brand new car less then 2 months ago. That is not gonna happen.

Sounds like a dealer problem. They should not ask for any money for a warrenty claim

WoW, just sell it at a loss and blog-away if that's what it takes to make you happy or give them a chance to make things right.

I'd call the Service Manager.

In no way should you be expected to pay for a warranty claim, and FWIW the leather in my Overland (as well as the carpet on the back of the seat) has held up fine, and my dog lays on the back seats all the time.

This particular dealer was one of the concerns I had with buying my Jeep, they're tiny and don't really seem to care. If they don't get more reasonable, I would try calling Jeep's corporate numbers, and/or a different dealership.

Sounds like bad leather. That stuff is pretty tough. I went for a drive with a pair of pruners in my back pocket, blade up. They scratched the leather but did not tear it.

I did call Jeep and it is Steve White Motors demanding the payment upfront not Jeep. I too tried to buy a car there two years ago and di not recive good sales service but lake Norman Dodge is where I bought the car from and they messed up the title on it so its a second owner car now eventhough I m the first owner so you know I already hate them for that. The best place to buy a Dodge is Abernethy in Lincolnton. I am so so so sorry I did not buy this one there.. But for the record I am just sorry I bought the thing in the first place. Talk about total dissappointment.

Sounds like a dealer problem. Your talking to customer service people at chrysler that have no power to do anything other than listen to you complain. The dealer is the ones looking at the damage and Chrysler is going to listen to what they have to say about it. If the dealer is really saying this is damage from a dog then there is no way they will cover it. I'm a little confused though are you saying the dog did cause this but it was because the material was so thin or they appeared on their own or what? I would probably take it to another dealer and explain whats going on with it.
