Transmission Fluid Flush
I'm looking to do a trans flush on my Jeep, don't want to just drop the pan. What do you guys think about this procedure for flushing? Is this a safe option for the 5.7 hemi's?
If not, what is the correct procedure for flushing the system. Is it something that can be done by a skilled DIY'er or do you need special equipment?
Re: Transmission Fluid Flush
Yes and no, I did this to my parents jeep 2006 3.7 commander but I will say its no good if you dont change the filter, what I did was unhook the cooler return lines put one end in the bucket of new atf+4 and one empty bucket start the jeep and let the fluid cycle when you see the fluid go from dark to red pinkish, shut off jeep re connect lines, drop the pan change the filter, re install pan, check dipstick and add the fluid from the pan and continue to top off until its where it should be. THats what I did it took me about an hour.
