Better roof rack crossbars

For WJ owners who don't care for the look of a Yakima or Thule rack mounted on top of your factory side rails there is a great solution from Yakima. As you might know the factory WJ crossbars are very wimpy and flex like crazy. It is dangerous to carry kayaks on them. Yakima purchased Whispbar http://www.yakima.com/shop/baserack/whispbar-s44-rail just over a year ago and finally have good availability of the Whispbar products to US retailers. I manage a bicycle store and picked up a pair of Whispbar S44 Rails to carry my sea kayaks. I mount 2 sets of Thule 835Pro Hull-a-Port Pro http://www.thule.com/en-US/US/Produc..._a_-_Port-PRO# folding j-carriers to carry my 2 sea kayaks which are about 17' long. The Whispbar crossbars are rock solid and dead quiet! The Thule 835Pro j-carriers are much quieter than the Yakima BowDown http://www.yakima.com/shop/water/top/bowdown , Yakima's best j-style kayak carrier. The BowDowns whistle like crazy on my WJ. My stock infinity sound system could not drown them out.

You can purchase hardware to mount many Yakima and Thule accessories to the Whispbar S44's.
