a/c recirculator

hey everyone its been awhile since ive posted a thread, but its good to be back,my problem is i only drive my jeep on the weekends so it sits all week long,it has been very hot up here in mass and when i put my a/c on i noticed that the recirculate mode doesnt work anymore,it sounded like the door that controls it was slapping over the winter whenever i shut the car off so i figured thats why it doesnt work now,any ideas?by the way it has the dual zone climate control, thanks

Sounds like your temperature blend door is broken. I was fortunate to catch mine under warranty still to get it fixed. There are videos on YouTube for this fix. It can be costley if you take it to the dealer since they remove the dash for the fix.

thanks,it doesnt bother me that much to spend alot of money on the fix,the temperature works fine its just the recirc mode isnt closing

I have yet to repair this concern but saw a coworker performing a recirc door repair through the inlet under the cowl... I am not sure how easy or hard the whole thing is but it looks like the dash doesnt have to come out.

Hey jeep 5.7
I had the same thing happen to me recently. Did some research and found this on an SRT8 site: http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/s...t=34640&page=4

Sounds like you have a broken gear on the door motor switch. Today I got the glove box and silencer pad out of the way and the same broken gear part thats in the picture, fell right onto the floor. I got my hand on what was left of the gear mechanism assembly and moved it with the ac on "recirc" to make sure the door was in recirc position. I'm just gonna leave it the way it is for now. At least I have cold ac. Hope this helps.

How much does this part cost?

Mine has had problems and makes clicking sounds but hasnt stopped working. the only problem ive had is that it blows on the floor plus what i put it on ALWAYS

Yours wouldn't be a recirculation door

Sounds like the issue I had with my ZJ's blend door actuator...
