2011 Hyundai Sonata
9 Attachment(s)
So I previously was looking at a 2010 Nissan Titan PRO-4X. I also have had my eye on a few others. For example, the 2010 G37 Sport Sedan. However, after last nights unveiling, I was pretty disappointed, and truly believe that they killed the car. So, I kinda threw that option out of the window. The other option I thought of, was the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, but because no official pictures were released, I was iffy on it. Today, however, pictures of the Sonata were released.

Here is a little run down of the car, and my impressions.

Exterior- Let's start with the front portion of the car. I love the grille. The new grille on the car, gives the Sonata an aggressive look to it. The new headlight design accompanies the new grille perfectly. When you look at the front of the car, it almost seems as if the car is giving you an evil smile.

Let's now discuss the rear end of the car. The rear end of the car, is also an upgrade from the previous generation sonata. Some say it looks like a BMW from behind, I would have to agree. I overall am really happy with the design of the rear end.

I am a little disappointed, with the overall shape of the car however. It is as if Hyundai went for a grand slam, but only came up with a double. It looks a little too futuristic for me. I do believe that with time, and once seen in person, it will be something that will grow upon others.

Overall rating- 7.5/10

Interior- This is one of my favorite parts about the car. Hyundai went all out when they decided to upgrade their interior, from the cheap look of the previous generation Sonata, to the new generation Sonata. When I look at the interior of the Sonata ( w/ Navi ) one thing comes to mind...Infiniti. The Navigation unit is exactly like that of the new age Infiniti. Apparently many others also agree, or so, from what I have read.

The interior improvements does not stop there. The gauge cluster is also an improvement. The last generation Sonata's gauge cluster, can be compared to the new Honda Accord. One word describes it, CHEAP. That can not be said about the improved gauge cluster however. It looks as if Hyundai wanted to make a statement, and that they did.

The leather interior is amazing looking as well. Not much of a change seeing as the past generations offered leather.

Overall score- 8.5/10

Performance- There is nothing much to say about performance. As far as I know, there will be an v6, a 4 cyc, and a turbo 4cyc.

Overall score- 8.0/10

Price- The Sonata is priced perfectly. The base models go for the mid to high teens, the middle models go for the low 20's, and the fully loaded limited model go for mid 20's. However, after rebates/negotiating you can knock the price down 2-5k.

Overall score- 9.5/10

Fuel Consumption- The Hyundai Sonata gets great gas mileage. Simple as that.

Overall score- 9.5/10

I truly like this car. I will be considering this car as a DD while I wait for the new SRT8. You may like Hyundai, and you may not, but they have become very competitive. I can guarantee you, this car is worth every penny.

Total score- 43/50
