Too close for comfort?

I test fit my 1 Nitto Crosstek the other day. Its a 265/65/17. I've had other tires in this size before and they fit fine with out any rubbing. I know some tires in this size need the bolt trimmed. (Bfg at) the nittos are a bit wider on the stock wheels and bulge out a bit. They don't rub at all, clear the bolt fine but its very close. There is less then 1/4 gap at the bolt and side wall. Its close enough that the nubbies on the side wall do touch but they are just the little rubber nubbies. I could throw on my 1/8" spacers when I am ready to buy 4 more matching tires if it really bothers me.

good looking tire. ive seen pics of people running tires a lot closer than that so i would say you should be fine. if not spacers up front should give you peace of mind...then again you gotta worry about the spacers then lol.

If you feel uncomfortable you can cut the bolt down quite a bit, and still have plenty of meat to put a wrench on it.

It all moves together so how would it really ever come into contact?

Thanks guys, I think I'm more ok with it being close then using the spacers. I might trim the bolt. Tiny bit though. I just wanter some input from others.

Thanks

You could get some bigger wheel spacers like 1" or so for real comfort. If the front square too much it make rip it open

I think when I buy the rest of the tires ill just use them as is w/o spacers. I'm going to be doing a lot of long distance driving in the future so I'd rather not use spacers.

X2. Either it will hit the control arm bolt all the time or not. There's not enough flex in the tire to worry about it. If it were going to be an issue, it would be on the inner fender at full lock and under compression.

I run a 265/65/17 as well (Toyo) with no issues. And I thought Nitto's ran a little narrower than other brands?
