TSB 21-010-12 tranny shift noise
 
So, I definitely have this issue on my 2012 jeep v8. It sounds harsh and I worry when I hear a sound like this that it is hard on something... But I also don't like the idea of having a Jeep (or any) tech crack into this German engineered tranny that otherwise is perfect (and doesn't leak!). The fix doesn't look too easy to get it perfect. I imagine one of those "balls" getting loose during the repair and rattling in the tranny.

If I knew this noise is not a sign the tranny is being hurt in any way, I'd ignore it. Otherwise, I may go for it, free tranny fluid change and all!

Any thoughts?

Took my in today for this and they've order the parts. I understand the concern about breaking the seal and there's no going back but hell least you passenger won't think your cars broken.

Well my wife said no way to the tsb... I tend to agree for now. Id love to hear how yours goes though. I usually cant leave well enough alone, and im not convinced it is well enough!

The seperator plate needs to be replaced on the valve body.
