2005 Cherokee Misfire and using coolant??

I have a 2005 Cherokee and have owned it for 8 months, bought it at 119,000 miles .My husband serviced it when we got it with an oil change and new plugs, which the ones he removed seemed like the original. It seems like I have had nothing but trouble with it since i got it.

First i had to have the front drive shaft replaced along with the transmission coolant line.

A couple weeks later it tried to over heat saying trans temp to high, my husand chaged the thermostat and it got air locked, which he finally worked out.

A couple weeks later it started bucking and acting really strange, took it to the dealer they said the code read #6 misfire, changed the plugs and went ahead and had the transmission fluid changed. But it still contuiues to misfire and now my check engine light has come on and stayed, along with the air bag light??

In all this we noitced it using coolant he has changed the oil and there is no water in the oil, so we have no idea where it may be going . we have had it in the shop foir the las week and when i talked to them he said he really didnt think we blew the head gasket but he has done pessure tests and cant seem to figure it out either???

Any ideas??? PS sorry this is so long.......

Figured out the coolant loss was from a faulty cap on the radiator. Th misfire is still a mystery the shop changed the fuel injector but that only made it drive fine for a day, then its already back to bucking and acting crazy. ANd now it seems to be burning more fuel saying im getting better gas mielage but the exuast smells pretty heavy of gas.???

So with the check engine light on, there should be some fault code(s) stored in the PCM. Do the key dance (ignition OFF-ON 3 times and leave it in ON at the last time, the fault code(s) will be shown in the odometer display)
Let us know what you get (besides the #6 misfire).
With the heavy fuel smell out of the exhaust, that almost should come from the #6 cylinder which doesn´t fire for some reason. Check if you have spark and as a last resort i would remove the cylinder head cover where the #6 cylinder is and check the rocker arms if they are in place. With a bad valve lash adjuster they can sometimes fall out or also when a valve seat has dropped then it could happen. With the rockerarm not in place, the respective valve would not open (and in this case it should be the inlet valve rocker arm, otherwise you wouldn´t smell any fuel from the exhaust) and there will be no mixture to burn, so a misfire.
Still strange though that after the fuel injector change it was running ok for a while.

Update
Took it back, they did somethning and they got it back to the right amount of fuel and mileage went normal, changed the spark plug, about 2 weeks later im talking good about it and get ready to go to town and check engine light came on no bucking or anything yet, get into town and it starts over heating. Get it to the shop, the over heating is the water pump not circulating, new water pump, reset the codes, didnt get to do the test my self on codes. Drove it home today with no problems, but i expect in a couple of days the light will come back.

Every time the spark plug is changed it wil run fine for about 2 weeks then the light will return.

Does the spark plug look dirty or any other strange color to it? When something is fouling it after some use, the high voltage for the spark could flow away without causing a spark and there you have your misfire. The sparkplug color could give an idea what is going on.

well back from the shop..... still a number 6 misfire, shop says they have pout 3 spark plugs in it and 2 of the the porceilin was broke on both of them, he is thinking its the computer and were talking 300-500$ to fix that. Shops suggestion is to put a new spark plug and sell the SOB!!
