Sound inquiry

I am looking for a couple things in the audio department.

I am looking for a Touchscreen that is cheaper but good, approx 300ish
Pioneer has one that looks good, but I figured I would hit you guys up to see if you have any that you prefer. I will be getting the Nav Bezel so I can do Double DIN

I dont like the pop out touchscreens they are cheezy IMO.

Any recommendations on AMPs Speakers and Subs would be awesome as well.

Pioneer is a pretty decent headunit. For amps and speakers i went with alpine and they sound amazing. I have all alpine amps and headunits which kickers components front and rear with a 3 channel component speakers in the front.

I have a Pioneer AppRadio 2 they run about $400, don't get the first gen though. I personally am thinking about selling it because it doesn't have A2DP bluetooth streaming, but has Bluetooth for handsfree calling which works great, but I'm considering going back to Alpine since that's what I've always had and really liked. Also need something with a full set out pre-outs.

Pioneer head units are okay, but I'm going back to Alpine.

i have the new pioneer avh-p4400 and its awesome. Amazing iPod integration even with my old gen 3 classic and very nice sounding as well. The HD radio is pretty cool too if you live in an area that broadcasts it. Ive never had it before this radio and it makes me want to listen to the radio again, plus there are the extra channels you get. Ipod, cd, pandora, and hd radio all dislpay the name of the song, artist and cd name which is sweet too. As far as video i would only use it as a backup camera input as i wasn't too impressed with the video quality watching DVDs.

I bought the alpine mini amp and hooked it up inline with this screen and my door speakers really kick. I would highly suggest getting that as well if you can spend the extra 80. Its not as powerful as a bigger amp but still plenty at 45 rms and doesn't need a power, ground, runs of wire to all 4 doors and dash speakers and can be mounted in the dash inline with the TV.

As far as speakers Ive always had name brand (kicker, alpine, fosgate, boston acoustics, focal..etc) I would say the best sounding but more expensive is the focals, they don't need a lot of power to sound good and seem to hit every note from any type of music you throw at them. A close second place is boston acoutsic. Even there entry level line of products sounds great. I have memphis speakers all around right now as i got them for pennies from a buddy who was closing his car audio shop and i must say they can hang with the bostons and focals. However i have the m class components and i think there like 400 a set or something which would get pretty pricey.

For a sub i have an MTX 9500 15 getting around 1800 watts. It is a monster and kicks out some crazy bass for a single sub. Even with all that power and bass the speakers still have no problem overcoming the bass and the words are still loud and crisp sounding with no distortion.

Hope this helps!

With my rockford 10 the bass over powered the stock ba system. now with the components with alpine amp the whole system is in perfect harmony.

that is a nice unit too. It is essentially the same thing as what i have(avh p4400) but with a higher screen resolution and some beat mixing thing i dont understand. The bluetooth is nice to have too.

I am not really seeing any other head units for that price with better resolution. Even the http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/iva-w505/default unit has the same Resolution and it is 1100 dollars.

Yea, after looking around 800 x 480 appears to be the norm on these Headunits.

Re: Sound inquiry

The Alpine IVA-W505 & Pioneer AppRadio 2 are 800x480. Sorry just realized that the specs were wrong on Amazon. The screen resolution is the same as those two. I won't buy anything else made by Pioneer though after 3-4 bad experiences with their headunits though.
