Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

Ok, in Australia we've all suffered one way or another at the hands of poor, very poor service from CJD Australia or at the hands of the service depts of some dealerships.

Granted, on reading some historical posts, some issues have been quite minor but others, particularly when we get the dealership stonewalling and when CJD Australia either don't act or don't care.

If we were to seriously "collectively" petition the US office we would have to do this respectfully with the only message being is we want no more than after sales service than any other manufacturer on the Australian market.

Perhaps the petition could read something along these lines.......

As Grand Cherokee owners we have grave concerns that CJD Australia cannot control after sales service to protect our investment in the Jeep brand.

As Grand Cherokee owners we have grave concerns that CJD Australia cannot control service quality its franchise dealerships are offering us to protect our investment in the Jeep brand.

As Grand Cherokee owners we have grave concerns that as more Grand Cherokees hit the market as we can clearly see is the case, CJD Australia will not keep up with demand particular in the area of professional services for existing customers.

As Grand Cherokee owners we have grave concerns that car service and parts prices are marked up and are disproportionate. In addition, CJD Australia's parts inventory is so low that some of our cars are undergoing Jeep scheduled services at the dealerships with some dealerships knowingly not carrying the appropriate parts.

.........you get the gist.

Good idea / bad idea?

Good idea. They are a most disorganised bunch. The Sales department has handballed me to Service so that I may apply for the front recovery hook which Service claims to still not have any further information about availability. Now the Service guys are asking me to provide a copy of contract because it's too difficult to ask the Sales people to retrieve it from archive!

I am in. However, we should get the feed also from the other models, Wrangler etc, as they are also impacted with issues.

Didn't someone on this site called the U.S office and got whatever his/her problem fixed?

I rekon an effective way is to have campaign with posters where user can modify the last sentence. Like those shell oil posters for drilling in Alaska.
It should be be like “I bought a jeep” “then the users message”
Eg:
I bought a jeep, “now have to wait 4 weeks for oil filter through jeep Australia”
I bought a jeep, “now have to wait 6 months for order number from jeep Australia”

Agreed, Milous, could you please point us in the right direction?

Agreed, but let's keep the message "to the point" and isolated to our GC's to start with, I think if get other models involved it may dilute our message.

This may have been an isolated / individual case but our problem down here is complacency from the top down with CJD Australia, nearly all Grand Cherokee owners are suffering and if you read most posts and pick through them the underlying message is not good at all.

The GFC hit the US economy hard, CJD US has worked hard on a new Jeep car which has struck a nerve with all 4x4 enthusiasts worldwide. The US has a lot riding on the particular Grand Cherokee and with 300 million yanks watching a success story unfold during slow economic times, the stakes are very high.

Not so in Australia where there is a mere 22 million of us, thanks to the Chinese buying our dirt and gas, our economy has fared better, the stakes for CJD Australia don't seem to be so high down here, hence why we're asking the US to intervene. We've all been sold on the WK2 and love the car but after sales service, backup or anything else you would like to call it is virtually non existent. This is not merely our imaginings, it has been our experience.

If CJD US treats its domestic market like this then down here we have no hope. But we suspect the US treats its customer base with considerable respect, all we are asking for down here is the same level of respect, no more and most certainly no less.

I also think we need a sharp focus to be successfully, a broad gripe is too hard to address.

Is the core issue:

Parts availability?
Knowledge Transfer?
Trained Service Department?
Poor Service?
Or Care factor?

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

One major hurdle we may have to contend with is the great sales success Jeep are having here. Being they have record numbers of cars being sold, we may find our claims fall on deaf ears. As has been mentioned we need to focus on one or 2 points and see what the reaction is.

I did.

I contacted Mr Michael Manley in the USA, who I understand is the Vice Pres for Jeep Brand. I had commitments within a day to resolve AT tyres, recovery hook and warranty / service books.
